In the summer, it’s an air conditioner, pulling the heat out of your home and releasing it outdoors. At 17 degrees outside your 92% AFUE furnace will give you 92 Cents of heat of every $1.00 spent, while a heat pump will give you approximately $2.72 of heat for every $1.00 spent
